This course covers the CSQM area #5 of the Certified Software Quality Manager requirements. This course also covers AKA area #3 of the International Software Process Improvement Certification (ISPIC) requirements. This course also covers the Elective area for the Certified Test Manager (CTM) certification and the Test Professional Body of Knowledge and the CSTAS certification.

Concepts

Configuration management maintains software integrity throughout the process of the entire software life cycle, including maintenance.  It ensures that the correct version of each configuration item (e.g., requirements, documents, or modules) is incorporated into the appropriate configuration(s).  It is often confused with change management.  This tutorial introduces the attendees to a practical process for establishing and maintaining a configuration management program that meets their goals and information needs.   It also clarifies the differences between configuration management and change management.

Participants will learn:
